Equity Bank Closes Some Branches Early Amid Transport Disruptions

Kenya Private Sector Alliance (KEPSA) Chief Executive Officer Carole Kariuki has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Equity Bank Kenya, adding her extensive private sector leadership experience to the lender’s governance team.

Kariuki will continue serving as an Independent Non-Executive Director at the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) while taking up her new role at Equity Bank Kenya.

Welcoming the appointment, the NSE said Kariuki’s experience in business leadership, corporate governance and policy advocacy would strengthen the bank’s board.

“Carole’s distinguished leadership, strategic insight and unwavering commitment to advancing Kenya’s private sector have made a lasting impact across the business community,” the NSE said in a statement.

“We are proud to have her serve on the NSE Board, where her expertise continues to strengthen our vision of developing vibrant, inclusive and sustainable capital markets,” the statement added.

Kariuki has led KEPSA for several years, where she has championed policies aimed at promoting private sector growth, strengthening public-private partnerships and improving Kenya’s business and investment environment.
