RnB Singer Keri Hilson Breaks Down During Presser (Photos)

American songstress Keri Hilson was an emotional wreck during a press conference at Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC).

The singer who is also an actress was triggered by a question about depression from one of the journos present.

The reporter sought to find out from the “Pretty Girls Rock” hitmaker how she survived depression.

“I think we should learn to express our feelings in the songs we write. It was during that time that I feel I worked on some of my best projects as a songwriter,” a teary Keri responded.

“I had to take a break for a while to soul-search and find my happiness. That is exactly what I did, it took longer than I expected, but I am grateful that I found my way out. I just want to be a voice and be a beacon of light to those who are going through mental disorders or mental health issues.”

In a previous interview, she said that while at the peak of her career between 2010 and 2011, she suffered from depression shortly after getting out of an 11 year relationship.

The Terminal Music Weekend headlining artist further revealed that at this time she was really unhappy with herself.

Also performing is Kenya’s own; Khaligraph Jones, Habida, Sage among others.
