Ford Kenya deputy party leader Boni Khalwale has abandoned the Moses Wetangula led party for Jubilee.
The former Kakamega senator made the announcement on Friday at his Malinya home where he is hosting Deputy President William Ruto.
The ex-legislator was supposed to appear before the party’s disciplinary committee in two weeks over his close association with the DP.

Party disciplinary committee chairperson Ferdinand Wanyonyi noted that Khalwale was supposed to appear before the committee on May 21 but had the deadline extended to May 23.
“It is regrettable that to date, you have not responded to the letter under reference, nonetheless, due to your seniority and stature in the party, we have extended the period of requiring you to officially respond to the charges to Tuesday, May 21, 2019.
Further, the disciplinary committee has indulged you further and scheduled a meeting to give you a hearing at 9.30am on Thursday May 23, 2019,” Wanyonyi said.

Khalwale has vowed to support Ruto’s 2022 ambitions, going against the party wishes.
Wetangula has also made it clear that he intends on running for the country’s top seat replacing President Uhuru Kenyatta.
