Kimberley Jennifer Garth, known as Kim Garth, is an Irish-Australian professional cricketer born on 25 April 1996 in Dublin, Ireland.
She is a right-handed batter and right-arm medium-fast bowler who operates as an all-rounder.
Garth holds the rare distinction of having represented two nations at the international level.
She began her career with Ireland, making her debut as a teenager, before relocating to Australia and qualifying to play for the Australian national team.
She currently plays domestic cricket for Victoria and the Melbourne Stars in the Women’s Big Bash League.
She has also featured in competitions such as the Women’s Premier League and The Hundred.
Siblings
Kim’s older brother is Robert Garth, often referred to as Rob, born in December 1991.
He has played domestic cricket in Ireland for clubs including Pembroke and YMCA in leagues and cups such as the Irish Senior Cup and Leinster competitions.
Her younger brother is Jonathan James Garth, known as JJ or Jonathan Garth, born on 19 December 2000.
He is a right-handed batter and leg-spin bowler who has represented Ireland at underage and A-team levels, including Ireland Under-19s, Ireland Wolves, Munster Reds, and Leinster Lightning in domestic competitions.
Career
Garth made her international debut for Ireland in a One Day International against New Zealand on 4 July 2010 at the age of 14 years and 70 days, becoming the youngest Irishwoman to play international cricket at the time.

She went on to play more than 100 matches for Ireland across formats between 2010 and 2019, featuring in three World Cups and establishing herself as a regular all-rounder.
Notable early performances included strong bowling spells such as 4 for 11 against Bangladesh.
In 2020, she accepted a contract with Victoria in Australia to pursue full-time professional cricket.
She later became eligible to represent Australia after gaining residency. She made her Australian debut in a T20 International against India in December 2022.
This was followed by her ODI debut and Test debut against England in June 2023.
Since then, she has been a consistent presence in Australia’s squads across formats, contributing with the new ball and lower-order batting.
Domestically, she has played for teams including Sydney Sixers, Perth Scorchers, Melbourne Stars, Gujarat Giants, Manchester Originals, and Royal Challengers Bengaluru.
Accolades
Garth was named Cricket Ireland’s International Women’s Player of the Year in 2015. She was later recognised as Ireland’s Women’s Cricketer of the Decade.
With Australia, she has been part of successful campaigns, including a T20 World Cup-winning squad.
She has also been selected for major series such as the Women’s Ashes and World Cups.
She and her mother became the first mother-daughter pair to play in Women’s Cricket World Cups, with Anne-Marie having represented Ireland in 1988 and Kim doing so for Australia.
Individual match awards and strong performances in domestic leagues, including player of the year recognition with Melbourne Stars, further mark her contributions.
