Kisii Ward Reps okay appointment of Tvet executive Haron Maosa to County Public Board

A former technical institution executive-Haron Maosa- is poised to chair the Kisii County Public Service Board following a vetting exercise Tuesday.

He was unanimously approved by the Ward Reps after a brief house session.

Maosa , a former Keroka Technical College Principal, would assume the seat after a swearing in by the Speaker Wednesday.

He holds more than 25 years in the management of various technical institutions.

During the Assembly session Tuesday, he received strong support with majority assembly members citing his experience, leadership skills, and longstanding commitment to improving public service management as reason they found his nomination tenable.

“We believe he will bring a fresh perspective and a steady hand to the board. No member was coerced to vote him, there was no bribery,” House Majority Leader Henry Moracha told journalists.

Maosa is credited for distinguished career in technical and vocational education having served as the Principal of Keroka Technical Training Institute, where he played a pivotal role in expanding the institution’s infrastructure and labor capacity to accommodate more students.

During his tenure, he emphasized the importance of aligning educational programs with industry needs to enhance student opportunities.

Maosa holds a Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Education.

He also studied sociology and political science at the University of Nairobi
