Female nurses working at Kenyatta National Hospital’s orthopedic wing are complaining of sexual harassment from the male patients.
The nurses say that the patients on the sixth floor of the hospital openly make sexual comments while some grab, shove or even threaten them.
A nurse who sought anonymity told the Nation that: “Last year, someone described the colour of the undergarment I was wearing because as I attended to others, he looked under my dress.”
Another said that the patients who sometimes sneak beer and drugs to the wards have openly told her that they want to “sleep with me.”
The Nation reports that the orthopedic wards, without security, is already congested with a ward meant for 60 patients, being occupied by at least 106 patients.
