Gor Mahia edged out Sofapaka 1-0 at the Afraha Stadium on Sunday to move three points off Kenyan Premier League leaders Bandari in the standings at position three.

Meanwhile, their in-laws AFC Leopards lost their fifth league game on the trot following a similar loss to visiting Ulinzi Stars at the Kenyatta Stadium – Machakos.

In Nakuru, defending champions K’Ogalo showed their pedigree, squeezing a 1-0 Victory over Sofapaka to move to third in the standings on 25 points, three off leaders Bandari FC with a game at hand.

Former Ulinzi Stars forward Samuel Onyango was the toast of the day grabbing the sole goal in the 24th after a lovely interplay to settle the tough game.

The Batoto ba Mungu came into the match against a back drop of a morale boasting 4-1 win over pacesetters Mathare United.

Gor on the other hand lost 2-1 away to Petro Atletico in Angola in their previous encounter before today.

In Machakos, Leopards went down by Dan Waweru’s 3rd minute strike for their fifth straight loss.

The match was temporarily halted in the 88th minute as angry fans hit assistant referee with a missile.

Ingwe remain rooted in the relegation zone one point above Mt. Kenya United with 10 points from 13 fixtures.

In the other matches of the day, pacesetters Mathare United were held to a barren draw by Zoo in Kericho, while Western Stima compounded bottom placed Mt. Kenya United woes, edging them out 2-1.
