KRA Calls on Property Owners to Submit Title Documents for Verification

The Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has begun a process of cleaning up and updating its records of charges and restraints placed on taxpayers’ property as security for unpaid taxes.

In a notice issued on Tuesday, March 10, 2026, KRA said the charges were previously placed on properties by the Commissioner for Income Tax under the repealed Section 103 of the Income Tax Act or by the tax authority itself.

The authority has now asked members of the public whose properties may have such charges or restraints to submit copies of their title documents for verification.

Property owners are required to send a copy of the title deed together with an official search of the property and include their Personal Identification Number (PIN).

The documents can be sent through email to charge@kra.go.ke or delivered physically to the Commissioner, Legal and Board Services at Ushuru Pension Towers.

KRA said the office is located at Block B, 5th Floor of the building in Upperhill, Nairobi.
