Kylian Mbappé Lottin is a French professional footballer renowned for his exceptional speed, dribbling, finishing, and overall prowess as a forward.
Born on December 20, 1998, in the 19th arrondissement of Paris and raised in the suburb of Bondy, Seine-Saint-Denis, he has emerged as one of the most dominant players of his generation.
Mbappé captains the France national team and currently plays for La Liga club Real Madrid, where he continues to break records and captivate fans worldwide with his explosive style of play.
Siblings
Kylian comes from a football-oriented family and has two notable siblings with ties to the sport.
His younger biological brother, Ethan Mbappé, born on December 29, 2006, is a midfielder who recently signed a three-year contract with Ligue 1 club Lille after departing Paris Saint-Germain, where he made his senior debut alongside Kylian in a 2023 match against Metz.
Ethan has already featured in the UEFA Champions League and shares a close bond with Kylian, even inspiring the elder brother’s signature goal celebration from their FIFA video game sessions.
Additionally, Mbappé has an older adopted brother, Jirès Kembo Ekoko, a former professional footballer who also pursued a career in the sport.
Career
Mbappé’s football journey began under the guidance of his father, Wilfried, at the local club AS Bondy, where his prodigious talent was evident from age six, as noted by youth coach Antonio Riccardi who described him as far superior to his peers in dribbling and speed.
He progressed through the prestigious Clairefontaine academy before joining AS Monaco in 2013, making his senior debut in December 2015 against Caen at just 16 years old, becoming the club’s youngest-ever first-team player.
During the 2016-17 season, Mbappé exploded onto the scene, scoring crucial goals that helped Monaco secure the Ligue 1 title and reach the UEFA Champions League semifinals, including his first hat-trick in the Coupe de la Ligue.
In August 2017, Mbappé transferred to Paris Saint-Germain on an initial loan that became permanent for a reported €180 million, marking him as the world’s most expensive teenager at the time.

At PSG, he formed a lethal attacking trio with Neymar and Edinson Cavani, winning six Ligue 1 titles, four Coupes de France, and leading the club to its first Champions League final in 2020, though they fell short against Bayern Munich.
Mbappé became PSG’s all-time top scorer with 256 goals in 308 appearances, shattering records like the Ligue 1 top scorer for six seasons and earning Player of the Year honors five times.
His tenure included domestic quadruples and standout performances, such as scoring four goals in 13 minutes against Lyon in 2018.
After declining to extend his contract beyond 2024, Mbappé left PSG as a free agent and joined Real Madrid in June 2024 on a five-year deal, fulfilling a childhood dream following years of speculation.
He debuted in the 2024 UEFA Super Cup, scoring in a 2-0 win over Atalanta, and quickly adapted to La Liga, netting his first league goals against Real Betis.
In his inaugural 2024-25 season with Madrid, Mbappé scored 43 goals across competitions, including 31 in La Liga to claim the Pichichi Trophy as top scorer.
Internationally, Mbappé debuted for France in 2017 and has since become a cornerstone of the team, contributing to victories in the 2018 FIFA World Cup—where he scored in the final—and the 2021 UEFA Nations League.
At the 2022 World Cup, he led France to the final again, winning the Golden Boot with eight goals, including a hat-trick in the decisive match against Argentina.
