Lake Bell, born on March 24, 1979, in New York City, is an American actress, screenwriter, director, and producer whose multifaceted career has left an indelible mark on Hollywood.
Raised in a creatively charged household, Bell’s mother, Robin Bell, owns the New York-based design firm Robin Bell Design, while her father, Harvey Siegel, is a real estate developer who transformed the Virginia International Raceway into a racetrack country club and owned New Jersey Motorsports Park.
With a heritage blending Jewish and Protestant roots—her father is Jewish, and her mother is Protestant—Lake grew up in what she has playfully called a “comically dysfunctional” family.

Lake has three siblings.
Her older brother, Luke Bell Siegel, is a New York-based entrepreneur who founded and runs Raydoor, a company specializing in sliding walls and doors.
