    Siblings

Lani has two sisters and two brothers.

Her sister May is a talented band vocalist who has performed in the music industry and shares a close bond with Lani, often supporting each other through life’s challenges.

Another sister, Karlyn, is an actress who appeared in the series Munting Paraiso and is also musically inclined, playing both the violin and the flute.

Her brothers, Novi and Osi, contribute to the family’s musical legacy by playing the guitar and piano, respectively.

    Career

Coming from a family where her father, Benjamin de Guzmán Bayot, was an operatic tenor and her mother, Esperanza Salvador Dimalanta, a coloratura soprano, Lani received classical vocal training from her parents.

She began her professional journey after studying at Rafael Palma Elementary School and PCU Union High School, later earning a degree in Business Management from Philippine Christian University.

Known early on as the “Multiplex Queen” for her extensive work on jingles and karaoke recordings, she signed with Viva Records and released albums such as Tunay Na Mahal (1998) and All Heart (2000).

Her breakthrough included winning top honors at the 1999 Metropop Song Festival and staging her major solo concert Lani Misalucha: The Crossover Live Tour at the Araneta Coliseum in 2001.

In 2004, she relocated to Las Vegas, becoming the first Asian artist to headline a main showroom on the Las Vegas Strip, performing long-running shows with the Society of Seven at venues like Bally’s and the Flamingo, as well as alongside Earl Turner at the Westgate.

After more than a decade abroad, she returned to the Philippines in 2014, signing with Star Records for The Nightingale Returns.
