Lawyer Accused Of Swearing To Two Conflicting Affidavits In The Wavinya vs Mutua Case

Wavinya Ndeti, Gubernatorial Aspirant, Machakos county

The petition against Machakos governor Alfred Mutua by Wavinya Ndeti took a fresh turn after the advocate who had denied commissioning affidavits was caught to have sworn two contradicting affidavits.

In the first affidavit than was sworn in September lawyer Hams Kiplimo Lagat admitted to have met the first petitioner and her witness and commissioned affidavits that were presented as evidence in the election petition. He also admitted to be a lawyer to the first petitioner, Wavinya Ndeti and her family and has represented them in previous matters

However in an affidavit dated December 4, the same lawyer denies commissioning the affidavits presented by the petitioner saying that he did not recognize the signatures on the affidavits.

The petitioners lawyers however contacted the office of the DCI so as to conduct an investigation of the said lawyer.
