Leah Cathrine Williamson is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre-back or midfielder for Arsenal in the Women’s Super League and captains the England women’s national team.
Born on 29 March 1997 in Milton Keynes, she has established herself as one of the leading figures in women’s football, known for her versatility, leadership, and composure on the pitch.
A lifelong Arsenal supporter, she joined the club’s academy at a young age and has remained loyal to the Gunners throughout her senior career.
Siblings
Leah grew up in a football-loving family in Newport Pagnell with her brother Jacob Williamson.
Their household features a classic North London derby split, as her father and brother support Tottenham Hotspur while Leah, her mother Amanda, and her grandmother are dedicated Arsenal fans.
Jacob has been vocal in his support for his sister, particularly celebrating her achievements with the Lionesses.
Career
Williamson began her football journey at Rushden & Diamonds before joining Arsenal’s Centre of Excellence in 2006 at the age of nine.

She made her senior debut for Arsenal shortly after turning 17 in 2014 and has since become a mainstay in the team, accumulating hundreds of appearances across all competitions.

On the international stage, Williamson progressed through England’s youth teams before earning her senior debut in 2018.
