Veteran politician Kenneth Matiba has died at Nairobi’s Karen Hospital. The politician who has been ailing over the years and has been out of the limelight as a result.

His daughter Ivy Matiba confirmed the death of her father. He was 86 years old.
Kenneth Matiba will be remembered for fighting for multiparty ism when Kenya was still a one party state. During his struggle he was arrested, tortured and illegally detained by the Moi regime.
He was recently awarded by the the court over Sh.600 million for the torture that he suffered during that period. He was also a presidential candidate but was rigged out by the KANU party with Moi remaining as president.
