Lisa Brennan-Jobs is an American writer best known as the eldest daughter of Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Jobs and his high school girlfriend, artist Chrisann Brennan.

Born on May 17, 1978, in Portland, Oregon, she grew up amid a complex family dynamic shaped by her father’s initial denial of paternity, which lasted for several years before a court-ordered DNA test and child support arrangements confirmed his responsibility.

Her early life involved frequent moves and financial struggles with her mother, contrasting sharply with her father’s rising success in technology.

Over time, she reconciled with Steve Jobs, who later included her in family life, though their relationship remained complicated.

Reed is her half-brother, while Erin and Eve are her half-sisters.

The siblings grew up in a more stable household with their parents in Palo Alto, California, and have largely maintained private lives.

In 2018, she published her debut book, Small Fry, a memoir that chronicles her childhood, her evolving relationship with her father, and the contrasts between her parents’ worlds.

The book received widespread attention for its candid and literary portrayal of family life in the shadow of Silicon Valley innovation.

    Accolades

Brennan-Jobs’s memoir Small Fry earned significant critical praise upon its release.
