Our very own Lupita Nyong’o will be part of the Black Panther cast and will be playing Nakia, T’Challa’s love interest.
Black Panther will hit theaters next year. We will see the king of Wakanda facing off against a number of his classic villains like Ulysses Klaue and Erik Killmonger. But in order to include Man-Ape, one of the Black Panther’s more iconic foes, Marvel had to be thoughtful and get creative to avoid racial stereotyping.
The Oscar winner will take on the role of Nakia who’s ‘an undercover operative traveling the world to protect Wakanda’s interests and hunt its enemies.’
‘In her journey in this film, she has to really choose between her passion for her calling and her passion for her king,’ Lupita explained.
Some of the cast include: Michael B. Jordan, Angela Basset, Chadwick Boseman, Forest Whitaker just to mention a few.
The Queen of Katwe star is also expected to feature in Star Wars: The last Jedi.
