makau mutuaProfessor Makau Mutua has told off Fazul Mahamed for deregistering Kenya Human Rights Commission (KHRC) over misappropriation of funds and unpaid taxes.

Makau who is one of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s biggest critics, through his social media accounts dismissed the NGO board’s reasons for having his organization deregistered.

Fazul has no LEGAL AUTHORITY to DEREGISTER the KHRC. High Court last year REJECTED these FALSE charges and ordered him to CEASE + DESIST.

KHRC was accused by Fazul of having not paid the taxman over 100 million in taxes. There were accusations of the organization having employed foreigners without valid work permits.

Mahamed in his letter, asked the Director of Immigration to deport the said expatriates.

Mutua’s organization had on Monday said it would petition the presidential election results. Kenyans online feel like the NGO board’s timing was wanting.

The Prof on Saturday said he would not recognize Uhuru as the duly elected President.

KHRC was also accused of holding illegal accounts at NIC and CBA Banks.

“KHRC cannot account for Sh1.2 billion that was in the account by October 4, 2016, in accordance with the NGOs Coordination Act 1990,” the letter read in part.
