    Man Accused Of Killing Nephew For Insurance Proceeds Charged With Murder

    Evans Kasyoki was charged on Wednesday at the High Court in Machakos for killing his nephew, Erick Makau in March 2014.

    He is acussed of killing Eric for over two Sh9 million life insurance policy covers in Kangundo.

    He was charged with murder on Wednesday but did not take a plea. He will take plea on September 17.

    Magistrate Kemei directed that Evans be taken to Mathare Hospital for a mental evaluation and asked the defence to put in a formal application for bail and serve the prosecutor.

    Makau had had two life insurance policies amounting to Ksh9 million which his family had no knowledge about.
