Police in Molo Sub-county, Nakuru County, arrested a 42-year-old man following the death of his wife in what is believed to be a domestic dispute at Migaa Village.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Monday, March 30, 2026.
Authorities received information at around 5:00 a.m. indicating that a domestic quarrel had escalated, with reports suggesting that a man had fatally injured his spouse.
Officers who responded to the scene found the suspect inside their home.
Upon gaining access to the house, they discovered the lifeless body of his wife, 34-year-old Rose Marita, lying inside.
Preliminary observations revealed that the deceased had sustained a deep cut to the head, leading to severe bleeding believed to have caused her death.
The scene was processed by investigators, and the body was moved to Molo Sub-County Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination.
The suspect has since been arrested and is being held in police custody pending further investigations.
Police say inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the incident are ongoing.
Elsewhere, police in Khwisero Sub-county, Kakamega County, launched investigations into the suspected murder of a three-year-old girl in Emakhwari “A” Village.
Police responded to information about a suspected murder incident in the area at around 11:50 a.m. Monday.
The body of the child was found lying on a bed inside her home.
Her mother told police that she had a domestic disagreement with her husband on Sunday night at around 10:00 p.m., prompting her to seek refuge at a neighbour’s house.
She left the child behind with the man, who is reported to be the girl’s stepfather.
When she returned home the following morning at about 7:00 a.m., she found the house locked from the inside and the man missing.
After breaking the padlock, she discovered the child’s lifeless body on the bed.
Preliminary observations indicated that the body had no visible physical injuries, but there was mucus discharge from the mouth and nose—signs that investigators suspect may point to possible strangulation.
The body was moved to Sonak Hospital Mortuary for preservation and a postmortem examination.
Police have launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large, as investigations into the incident continue.
