A man was disarmed and arrested after he shot to the air in rage outside a popular club in Eldoret.

The incident happened Sunday October 5, 2025 morning outside the Tamasha Entertainment.

The accused person was identified as Dennis Nyamu who is a licensed gun holder.

Nyamu had arrived at the club at about 1 am in the company of other revelers when they asked to wait at the entrance for a search.

He was frisked and found to be armed. He was then informed by the security team he would not be allowed into the facility because he was armed.

This angered him as he tried to force his way in. The security at the facility stood firm and stopped him from getting into the club while armed.

It was then that he stepped back, drew his gun and fired to the air once.

Police were informed of the incident and responded there before they disarmed him of his Glock pistol that had 14 bullets.

He was also detained for grilling before he was ordered to report back at Kapseret police station for further processing and possible arraignment.

Cases of misuse of guns by both public and private individuals have been rampant with police pledging action on those implicated.
