    Man electrocuted while pruning trees in Naivasha

    A 40-year-old man was electrocuted as he pruned trees at a compound in Lake View area, Naivasha, Nakuru County.

    Police said Francis Mwangi had been hired to prune the trees along Makutano Road when he accidentally touched live cables running near the scene.

    He was electrocuted and died on the spot. Police and Kenya Power and Lighting officials were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending other procedures.

    In Tangi Tano, Gilgil, Nakuru County, one Douglas Oganda, 24 died after being assaulted by a man known to him. He succumbed to the injuries on January 5, four days after the incident.

    Police said they are pursuing the said assailant in the murder.

    Meanwhile, police in Kutus, Kirinyaga County are investigating the murder of a man in Karithini village.

    The body of Alfred Mwangi, 65 was found in his compound long after his murder.

    The body had visible injuries on the head and police said they suspect they were inflicted by a blunt object.

    The motive of the murder which happened on January 5 was not immediately known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said.

    No arrest had been made by Tuesday amid ongoing investigations.

    In Ruiru, Kiambu County, police said they are investigating the sudden death of a man outside his house.

    The man identified as Muya Mburu, 30 had on Monday arrived home late and took his meals before he said he was feeling unwell.

    He went to the balcony of his apartment where he collapsed and died.

    Police said he was pronounced dead at a local hospital and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures. Police want to understand what caused the death and were tracing the places the victim was before he arrived home.
