Man fatally stabbed in dispute over food bill in Kasarani

Police in Kasarani, Nairobi County, are investigating a murder incident in which a 73-year-old man was allegedly stabbed to death following a dispute over a food bill.
According to the police, the incident occurred on May 15, 2026 at around 9:17pm.
It is reported that the suspect, also aged 73 years, allegedly stabbed the victim, Jackson Mwangi Ndirangu, several times after a disagreement over payment for food consumed at a local hotel.
Police officers responded to the scene and found the victim lying on the ground in a supine position, fully dressed, with multiple stab wounds to the chest and both sides of the back.
The suspected murder weapon was not recovered at the scene.
Crime scene investigators processed and documented the area before the body was moved to City Mortuary Nairobi pending postmortem examination.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
Elsewhere, police in Kuria West Sub-County, Migori County, are investigating a case of suspected murder and mob injustice following an incident in which one man was killed and another seriously injured in Kehancha area.
According to the police, the incident began on May 15, 2026 at around 5:30pm when Samuel Sereria Marigo alias “Babu”, a 30-year-old Kuria male adult, was reportedly called from his home by individuals known to his wife to join them for drinks at Kobinto Shopping Centre.
His wife later received a call from an unknown woman instructing her to rush to the same area, where she allegedly witnessed her husband being forcibly bundled into the boot of a black Probox vehicle by several armed men carrying machetes.
Later that evening, at around 7:30pm, police received reports of a mob justice incident at Namba Nairobi area.
A team of police visited the scene and found the body of Samuel Sereria Marigo partially burned, with ropes tied around his hands and legs.
At the same location, another victim from Namba Nairobi village was found alive but severely injured with burns.
He was initially rushed to Migori County Referral Hospital before being referred to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital in critical condition for intensive care.
Police said the body of the deceased was moved to Kehancha Sub-County Hospital Mortuary pending postmortem examination.
Investigations into the circumstances surrounding the abduction and mob justice incident are ongoing.
