Detectives are investigating an incident where a 28-year-old man was stabbed and killed as he walked to work in Shauri Moyo area, Nairobi.
Stephen Musyimi Musyoki’s body was found on the roadside minutes after his attack in the morning hours on February 27, 2026, police and witnesses said.
The motive of the attack was not immediately known as nothing was stolen from the victim, police said.
He had stab wounds in the abdomen. Witnesses said there was a confrontation between the deceased and the assailants before they attacked him and escaped.
He was rushed to the hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and investigations.
Police visited the scene and announced they were pursuing the assailants in the 6.30 am incident.
Armed crimes and in particular the ones being aided by motorcycles have been on the rise amid efforts to contain the trend. Dozens of the suspects have been killed by mobs in some of the incidents.
Elsewhere in Nyamusi, Nyamira County, officials exhumed a body of a man that had been buried in a shallow pit in a compound.
The compound was unoccupied when the body was buried and discovered. The body is believed to have been buried at the site last year. The scene was discovered by workers who were constructing a house near there.
The exhumation ended well and the remains were moved to the mortuary for identification and possible autopsy.
In Mukuyu, Uriri, Migori County, a suspect was stoned to death over claims he was a livestock thief.
Police discourage mob lynching and term it criminal. The police want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for processing and possible prosecution.
Nelson Odongo was confronted and stoned to death on Makuyu-Achuth Road by a mob, police said.
The body was picked up to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
