Man found dead in house after assault in Dandora

A 52-year-old man was found dead in his house after he had been assaulted by unknown assailants in Dandora, Nairobi County.
The deceased’s body was found lying with injuries in the head and stomach.
He was identified as Oliver Kamau. Police said a relative went to visit Kamau on Monday afternoon when he found him lying unresponsive in his house.
Police were called to the scene and reported they found him with blood oozing from his mouth.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations.
No arrest had been made by Tuesday morning, Nairobi police boss George Seda said adding they were pursuing leads on the motive and those behind the same.
In Kongoro, Nandi County, one Zakayo Kiplagat, 24 died after a fight with another man in the village.
Police said he sustained panga cuts in the head and died at a hospital where he had been rushed to.
The suspected assailant later presented himself to Kongoro police station where he was arrested after confessing to having been involved in a fight with the deceased.
The body was moved to await autopsy.
Elsewhere in Iguhu, Kakamega County, the body of a man was found floating on the River Yala.
Police said the body was found in the Ikuyo area by locals who called the police. The body had decomposed at the time of its discovery, police said.
It is suspected the man was killed and thrown into the river or drowned.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy and identification.
Locals have complained they recover bodies from the river in a worrying trend. Police investigations have since shown some of the victims drowned by accident while others were killed and thrown therein. Investigations into the incidents are ongoing, police said on Tuesday.
