Police in Nairobi are investigating the death of a man whose body was discovered inside his apartment in Imara Daima after he reportedly went uncontactable for about six days.
The deceased was identified as Festo Malundu Ndunye, a tenant who occupied a ground-floor apartment in the area.
According to police the incident was reported on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, after the apartment caretaker raised concerns over the tenant’s prolonged absence and unanswered phone calls.
The caretaker reportedly informed police that the tenant’s house had remained locked from the inside, prompting officers from Villa Police Station to visit the premises.
Upon arrival, the officers cut the padlock to gain entry and discovered Ndunye’s body lying on the floor in a face-up position.
Police reported that the deceased’s upper body was fully clothed, while the lower part of his body, including his underwear, was unclothed.
The body had no visible physical injuries, according to the initial police report.
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) officers from Embakasi processed the scene before the body was moved to Nairobi Funeral Home for preservation and a postmortem examination.
The cause of death had not been established by the time of the report. Investigations are expected to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
Elsewhere, police in Uasin Gishu County are investigating the discovery of a decomposed body found on the banks of Ziwa-Sirikwa Dam in Soy Sub-County.
The body was discovered on Tuesday evening, October 13, 2026, by children who were herding cattle in the area near Kapchepsir Village.
Police visited the scene, where they found a badly decomposed body whose identity remains unknown.
Police noted that the body was severely decomposed and both hands were missing. However, it was not immediately established whether the hands had been severed or lost through other circumstances.
The scene was processed, documented and photographed before the body was retrieved and moved to Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) mortuary in Eldoret.
The body is being preserved pending a postmortem examination and efforts to establish the deceased’s identity.
Police investigations are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the death.
