Police in Kiambu County launched an investigation into the death of a 59-year-old man whose body was found outside a medical facility in Kiambaa Sub-County.

The deceased, identified as Ferdinand Mulwa Maundu, was found at St. John the Baptist Dispensary in the Kiambeya area on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

The incident was reported by a clinical nurse at the facility after members of the public brought the body to the dispensary.

Police established that Maundu, had been found lying outside the medical facility.

The body had visible burns on the neck and chest, which police suspected could have been caused by an acidic substance. The exact nature and cause of the injuries, however, remained subject to forensic and postmortem examination.

CSI officers processed and documented the scene before the body was moved to Kikuyu Hospital Mortuary.

A postmortem examination is expected to establish the cause of death as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Elsewhere, police in Kiambu County have launched investigations into the killing of a 33-year-old woman whose body was found in a coffee farm in Juja Sub-County.

The deceased was discovered dead inside a bush within Kiaora Coffee Farm, about 70 metres from the Juja-Gatundu road, on Sunday, August 23, 2026.

The discovery was reported to police at about 1:30pm by Kiaora Location Chief Samuel Waweru after members of the public found the body.

According to preliminary police findings, the woman was on her way to Mtaro Estate shortly after 6am, where she worked, when she was allegedly accosted by unknown assailants.

Police suspect that she was sexually assaulted before being strangled.

Her body was found partially clothed, with bruising around the neck that was consistent with force and strangulation. Investigators also found signs of a struggle, with the woman’s belongings scattered around the disturbed ground.

CSI personnel processed and documented the scene before the body was removed and taken to Thika General Kago Mortuary, where it was preserved pending a postmortem examination.

Detectives have launched investigations to identify and arrest the suspected assailants and establish the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
