Man found murdered in his house in Kwale

A 45-year-old man was found murdered in his house in a village in Kwale County.

Police said the incident happened on March 23 in Mwereni village. The body of Mwanyama Kesi, 45, was found murdered in his house with a deep wound in his neck which police said was inflicted by a sharp object.

The assailants gained entry into the house by climbing a perimeter wall before slashing him to death. A woman who was in the house was left unharmed, police said.

The motive of the attack is believed to be a love triangle, police said as they moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy.

Police said they were hunting for the assailants in the saga.

In Homa Bay’s Kanyaluo area, police said they were investigating murder after the body of a man was found lying on the roadside.

The victim was identified as Clinton Ochieng and had stab wounds in the chest. His brother was also stabbed and injured in the attack by four people following a disagreement at a drinking den, police said.

Police said the motive of the attack was not immediately known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending other procedures.

The hunt on the assailants continued on Tuesday, police said.

Elsewhere in Harambee, Kakamega County, the body of a man was found in a sugarcane plantation after a suspected murder.

The body of the man had multiple injuries when it was discovered on Monday, police said adding his right eye had been gouged out.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy, police said.

Police said they are investigating murder in the incident and that they were yet to establish the motive.

Murder incidents have been on the rise amid efforts to solve them. Police say most of the incidents are linked to love triangle, land disputes and deals gone bad.
