    Man found murdered in Shauri Moyo area, Meru County

    Police in Mutuati Sub-County, Meru County, launched investigations into the killing of a man whose body was discovered with visible injuries in Shauri Moyo area.

    According to police, the incident was reported on the evening of April 1, 2026 by a local resident.
    The deceased, identified as Ngwatai M’Itabathi, was found lying lifeless in a supine position.

    Police officers visited the scene and indicated preliminary findings indicate that the body had a deep cut on the right ear and bruises on the left ribs, suggesting a violent attack.

    The scene was processed and documented before the body was moved to Nyambene Hospital mortuary, where it awaits a post-mortem examination.

    Police have opened a murder investigation as they seek to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.

    Elsewhere, police in Rachuonyo East Sub-County, Homa Bay County, have recovered the body of a three-year-old girl who drowned nearly a week ago.

    According to police, the incident was reported on Thursday at around 4:10 p.m. after a body was spotted floating in River Awach.

    Police visited the scene and established that the body was that of a minor aged three.

    Preliminary investigations indicate that the child drowned on March 26, 2026, at about 10:00 a.m. while playing with other children in the river.

    The body, which was in a decomposed state, was identified by the father.

    The scene was processed and documented before the remains were moved to Rachuonyo South Hospital mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to confirm the cause of death.

    Police have urged parents and guardians to exercise heightened vigilance to prevent similar tragedies involving young children
