Man found murdered outside Nakuru nightclub

Police in Rongai Sub-County, Nakuru County, launched investigations following the discovery of a young man’s body outside a nightclub in the Cheregei area.
The incident, reported at around 9:00 a.m. on March 28, 2026, prompted officers from Menengai Police Station and detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) Rongai to visit the scene near Club 032.
The deceased was identified as 23-year-old Benard Mugambi, a resident of Meru.
His body was found lying outside the club’s main gate with a visible injury on the right side of the head near the ear, as well as bruises on the stomach.
Preliminary investigations indicate that Mugambi may have been struck with a blunt object before his body was dragged along a murram road and dumped at the scene.
Police processed and documented the area as part of ongoing investigations.
The body has since been moved to the Nakuru Provincial General Hospital (PGH) Annex Mortuary, where it awaits a postmortem examination to establish the exact cause of death.
Authorities are yet to make any arrests as investigations continue.
Meanwhile, police in Kakamega County are investigating a sudden death incident involving a miner who died after a fall at a mining site in Ikolomani Sub-County.
The incident occurred earlier in the day at approximately 11:30 a.m. in Lirhembe area.
The deceased, identified as 40-year-old Hanington Okwesi, was working alongside other miners at a site owned by a local resident when the tragedy struck.
It is reported that Okwesi was climbing out of a mining shaft when he slipped and fell back into the hole, dying on the spot.
Police officers responded to the scene and, with the help of members of the public, managed to retrieve the body from the shaft.
The body was later moved to Mukumu Mission Hospital mortuary, where it is awaiting a postmortem examination.
Authorities have since launched investigations into the incident.
Meanwhile, police in Kisumu County are investigating a mob justice incident that left a 19-year-old man dead in Nyangande Trading Centre, Kadibo Sub-County.
Police found the victim, identified as Kelvin Owino, lying unconscious with multiple injuries.
Preliminary information indicates that he had been forcibly removed from Nyangande Sub-County Hospital by members of the public before being attacked.
The mob accused Owino of being part of a group that allegedly assaulted mourners in Kapiyo Sub-location the previous night.
Police noted that the victim was known to them and had an ongoing robbery with violence case at the Nyando Law Courts.
He sustained serious injuries, including a deep cut on the left hand, as well as multiple cuts on the legs and head.
Owino was rushed to Ahero Sub-County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
His body was later moved to the same facility’s mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
Police have since processed the scene and launched investigations into the incident
