    Man killed and his body dumped in water pan in Kisumu

    Detectives are investigating an incident where a man was found murdered and his body abandoned in a water pan in Chemelil, Koru, Kisumu County.

    The body was found at Nyandwa Water Pan before it was retrieved by locals.

    He was identified as Dalmas Sana, 33 and a local herdsman.

    Police said there was blood oozing from his mouth and nose when the body was found on Tuesday afternoon and that the motive of the murder was yet to be known.

    The man was last seen on January 11 in the area. There had been a brief search for him before the body was found and later moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures, police said.

    Police said they want to establish the motive behind the murder. The family had not reported the man was missing. A local herdsman stumbled on the body when he took cows to the area for water.

    A crowd gathered at the scene as the body was being retrieved to the mortuary.

    In Kegonga, Migori County, a 40-year-old man was killed in an altercation at a house.

    Police identified him as Babere Ragita. His body was found on a plastic chair long after his murder.

    Police said he had been involved in an altercation and fight which led to his fatal injuries.

    The assailants escaped the scene after the January 13 incident. Police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures even as the hunt on the assailants is ongoing.

    And a suspect was arrested after he jumped and tried to escape from the Migori Prisons. The suspect had been charged with breaking into a house with an intent to commit a felony. Prison warders had to shoot to the air in the drama to enable them rearrest the suspect. Police visited the scene and processed it for other procedur
