    Man killed, body abandoned in house in Embu’s Mbeere area

    Police in Embu County are investigating a suspected murder after the body of a 35-year-old man was discovered inside a house in Kirathe Village in Mbeere South Sub-county.

    According to police the incident was reported on May 6, 2026, at around 11pm after a village manager alerted authorities about the presence of a dead body in a house within Kirathe Village, Kithunthiri Sub-location.

    Police officers rushed to the scene where they found the body of Peterson Ireri Njeru, 35, lying on a bed inside the house.

    Investigators observed multiple injuries on the body, including a broken left shoulder, a broken right hand at the wrist and a broken right leg near the ankle.

    The deceased was also found with injuries on the left shoulder and a deep cut on the right side of the waist.

    The scene was processed by detectives before the body was moved to Embu Level IV Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination.

    And police in Kisumu County are investigating the death of a 51-year-old man who was found dead inside his house in Nanga area within Kisumu Central Sub-county.

    The incident was reported to National Police Service Nyalenda Police Station after relatives received information from neighbours about the death.

    The deceased was identified as George Otieno Adoyo, aged 51 years.

    Police officers visited the scene and processed the area before the body was removed.

    According to preliminary findings, neighbours said the deceased had appeared unwell earlier in the morning before he was later found dead in his house at around 3pm.

    Investigators also noted that vomit was found near the body, although no visible physical injuries were observed during examination at the scene.

    The body was moved to Kisumu County Referral Hospital mortuary awaiting postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.

    And police in Kiambu County are investigating a murder incident after a man who had been hospitalised following a brutal assault succumbed to his injuries at Thika Level Five Hospital.

    According to police, the deceased was identified as Christopher Muasya, 34.

    The case relates to an earlier serious assault incident reported on February 23, 2026 6 in which the victim was allegedly attacked by unknown assailants using a piece of wood.

    Police said the victim sustained severe head injuries and fractures on his legs during the assault and had been admitted at Thika Level Five Hospital in critical condition.

    A report made on May 6, 2026, by the deceased’s mother indicated that Christopher Muasya died on May 5 at around 4pm while undergoing treatment at the facility.

    The incident has now been reclassified as murder as detectives intensify investigations to identify and arrest those behind the attack.

    Police said further investigations are ongoing.
