Man kills wife and two children, sets house on fire in Kirinyaga

A man murdered his wife and two children before attempting to take his own life in a horrifying domestic incident in Ngurubani town in Mwea, Kirinyaga County.

The incident has left locals in shock.

Police and locals said chaos erupted late in the night Friday August 15 when loud screams were heard from the suspect’s house.

Moments later, the man reportedly emerged from the house with a rope tied around his neck and severe burns on his body.

The residents quickly mobilized and entered the house, where they discovered a disturbing scene of three bodies believed to be the wife and two children, burnt beyond recognition.

The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy as the man was taken to the hospital for attention under police watch.

Elsewhere in Ruaka, Kiambu County, a man who went missing for four days was found dead after suspected murder.

The man went missing on August 12 before his body was discovered four days later near Gachie River, police said.

Police said Peter Karomo Kabui, 36 was found murdered with a shoe lace tied around his neck.

The motive of the murder was not immediately established. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
