Man on the run after killing his wife in Kasarani

The body of a 43-year-old woman was found in her house after a suspected murder incident in the Kasarani area, Nairobi.

Police said the body of Florence Nyagah was discovered in her room on the second floor of their apartment long after her murder. The suspect is said to be a police officer.

The discovery was made on March 1, 2026 morning at the apartment along Lumumba Drive, police said.

Police who visited the scene said the body had three stab wounds in the chest and forehead and lay in a pool of blood on the floor.

The murder weapon, a knife, was found under a table in the kitchen without a handle, police said.

The police said the woman had been in the house with her partner who is alleged to be a police officer on February 28 when she talked on a video call with her daughter. It was until March 1 when the body was discovered by the daughter who had visited the house.

Police were called to the scene and moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy. No arrest has been made over the incident amid a hunt on the suspect, police said on Monday.

The motive of the murder was not immediately established.

Elsewhere in Mavoko, Machakos County, a night guard was hacked to death in a robbery at a quarry site.

Francis Wangia was on duty at the Silverstone Quarrying Company Limited site when a gang struck on Sunday dawn. They tied other guards and beat them up as they embarked on a robbery mission. Police said they stole three conveyor belts among other items from the site.

The gang also vandalized the control room and damaged security footage that had captured their activities there.

The injured three guards were rushed to the hospital in a stable condition while the body was moved to the mortuary for other procedures.

Police said on Monday they were pursuing the mob behind the attack.
