Police are investigating an incident where a 27-year-old man was shot and seriously wounded in the mouth in a house in Zimmerman, Nairobi.
The incident happened on December 30, 2025 afternoon in a house where a group had a party. It is not clear who was behind the shooting, police said, adding they arrested the tenant where it happened.
The victim had a bullet wound in the mouth. Police said the bullet exited from the right chin.
A team of detectives visited the scene and recovered a spent cartridge. The 9mm cartridge was found in one of the bedrooms at the house.
Police said they are yet to establish the motive and the person behind the same. The victim was referred to the Kenyatta National Hospital in a serious condition, police said.
Meanwhile, 16 assorted guns and 31 bullets have been surrendered in ongoing disarmament exercises in parts of Angata Barrikoi area, Narok County.
The weapons include nine AK 47 rifles, a G3 and other small ones.
There is a 30-day dusk to dawn curfew imposed in the area to tame attacks that had been on the rise before Christmas Day.
More than 10 people were killed and hundreds displaced in the tribal related attacks linked to cattle rustling and land dispute.
Top police commanders visited the area and announced the curfew which was followed by the disarmament. More police officers were deployed to the area to boost the security operations.
This has affected normal lives in the area amid calls for calm among the warring parties.
Officials say an investigation into the attacks is ongoing and those found culpable will be held responsible.
This comes amid claims of incitement from local politicians which has led to the attacks and counter attacks. A police officer is among those so far who have been arrested over the incidents.
