Man slashed to death in a love triangle saga in Trans Nzoia

A 32-year-old man was slashed to death in a suspected love triangle saga in a house in Bidii Mutoni area, Maili Saba, Trans Nzoia County.
The deceased was identified as Samuel Wanyonyi. The assailant is said to have found him in his house in a compromising situation before he fatally assaulted him.
Police said the assailant later called the wife of the deceased and asked her to go to the scene.
When the wife arrived there, she found the husband unconscious after he had been assaulted in the November 3, 2025 incident.
It emerged the deceased had been assaulted by two men. His motorcycle lay outside the house when police arrived at the scene. The assailants had escaped on foot.
The victim was rushed to Tuwan Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival, police said.
A panga believed to have been used in the attack, a yellow and blood-stained hoodie and the motorbike belonging to the deceased were recovered from the scene.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
Police said they are hunting for the assailants in the saga for grilling.
Police say cases of murder linked to love triangle have been on the rise in parts of the country amid efforts to solve them.
Meanwhile, police and prisons officials are investigating the death of a convict at the Maranjau Gk prisons, Muranga County.
The convict had complained of stomach pain before they moved him to the hospital. He died on the road and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Makuyu Health Centre.
The suspect identified as Stephen Kamau Kuguna, 53 was serving a one year sentence at Maranjau Gk prisons for the offence of trafficking narcotics.
The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations, police said
