Man stabbed and killed in robbery in Huruma

A 32-year-old man was found dead after being stabbed in a robbery incident in Huruma area, Nairobi.

He was identified as Cyrus Ngumbi. He is said to have been on his way home on Sunday night when he was confronted by his assailants who wanted money and other valuables. This prompted a brief confrontation before he was stabbed in the chest twice, police said.

The assailants escaped the scene. The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other investigations.

Police said they were hunting down the assailants. Such murder incidents have been on the rise in the area amid efforts to contain the trend, police said.

Elsewhere in Kiwanja area, Kahawa West, Nairobi, two suspects were stoned to death after being accused of being thieves of farm produce.

Locals claimed they had been experiencing cases of theft of the produce in the past month. On February 1, 2026, the two suspects were found stealing maize cobs from a farm before an alarm was raised alerting locals who responded and stoned the two to death.

The bodies were moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures, police said.

Police said they will investigate the incident and discouraged mob lynching at large. The police want suspects to be surrendered to authorities for investigations and further action.

And in Passenga, Nyandarua County, a man identified as Anthony Macharia, 43 was found dead on his door.

The body had injuries and was decomposing when it was discovered on Sunday, police said.

The police said the man may have been at the scene for three days. The body had blood oozing from the mouth then and was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

No arrest had been made by Monday over the death.

In Kithimu, Embu County, one Benson Mugambi, 24 was found dead in his house. The cause of the death was not immediately known and the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy.
