Man stabbed to death by father in Kirinyaga after domestic dispute
Police in Kirinyaga County are investigating the suspected murder of a 30-year-old man who was allegedly stabbed to death by his father following a domestic dispute.
The deceased, identified as Edwin Macharia, was found lying dead on the roadside along the Kiaruta-Karia road in Kirinyaga Central Sub-County on Tuesday, October 13, 2026.
According to police the incident occurred following a fight between the deceased and his father over domestic issues.
Preliminary investigations indicate that the father allegedly stabbed Macharia on the left side of his chest before fleeing the scene.
The body was discovered lying on grass beside the road, with a deep stab wound on the left side of the chest and blood oozing from the injury.
Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) personnel documented and processed the scene as officers launched a manhunt for the suspect, who remains at large.
Police are also pursuing leads to recover the suspected murder weapon.
Macharia’s body was moved to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination.
Investigations into the incident are ongoing.
And police in Murang’a County are investigating the suspected murder of a 25-year-old man whose body was discovered in a bush near Kangari-Kinyona Road in Kigumo Sub-County.
The deceased was identified as Francis Kamau Maina, a resident of Ikumbi Village.
According to police, the body was discovered on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at around 4pm in the Kiandombe area, shortly after crossing a river.
The body was lying in a bush adjacent to the Kangari-Kinyona road, prompting police intervention.
Police visited the scene and established the deceased’s identity.
The body reportedly had visible injuries on the forehead, raising suspicions of foul play.
It was subsequently moved to Kigumo Hospital Mortuary, where it is being preserved pending a postmortem examination to establish the cause of death.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
