Man stabbed to death while trying to break up fight in Eastleigh
A 33-year-old man was stabbed to death while attempting to separate two people who were fighting in Eastleigh, Nairobi.
The incident occurred on Wednesday night, September 9, 2026, at around 9pm in the 4th Street area of Muyuyu, according to police.
Police said a woman had earlier disagreed with a 25-year-old man. The woman reportedly went to report the matter at Airbase Police Post.
On her way back, police said, she was confronted by the man, leading to a physical confrontation between the two.
A passer-by identified only as Yasin, a 33-year-old, intervened in an attempt to separate them. He was allegedly stabbed on the left side of his chest with a sharp object, sustaining a deep cut.
He was rushed to North Light Hospital along Muyuyu Avenue but was pronounced dead on arrival.
The suspect was arrested and placed in police custody as investigations continued.
Crime Scene Investigation officers from Starehe documented and processed the scene, while the deceased’s body was transferred to the City Mortuary pending further police action.
Elsewhere, two foreign nationals were attacked and robbed by three men riding a motorcycle along Oloitoktok Road near Siaya Park in Nairobi’s Kileleshwa area.
Mohamed Abdi, a 48-year-old British national, and Aissam Allaoui, a 42-year-old Dutch national, were walking from Yaya Centre at about 12.30am on Thursday when the suspects allegedly rode past them before turning back and attacking them.
The assailants used a blunt object to strike Abdi on the nose, leaving him injured.
The attackers allegedly stole Sh15,000 in cash and a white power bank from Abdi.
Allaoui was robbed of a black iPhone 14 Pro valued at Sh96,000, Nike trainers, Apple headphones and a white charging cable.
The three suspects then fled on the motorcycle towards an unknown destination.
The two victims were assisted by a good Samaritan and taken to Nairobi Women’s Hospital, where Abdi received treatment for his injuries.
Police officers later visited the hospital and interviewed the victims as investigations got underway.
Detectives are pursuing leads to identify and arrest the suspects and recover the stolen property.
The incident has raised fresh concerns over late-night attacks targeting pedestrians in Nairobi, particularly along roads connecting busy entertainment and shopping areas.
