    Man stabs girlfriend seriously injuring her, attempts suicide in love triangle saga in Kerugoya Town

    A man and woman were admitted to the hospital with serious stab wounds in a failed murder and suicide mission in Kerugoya Town.

    The man had attacked and stabbed his former girlfriend outside the local Huduma Centre offices in an altercation on May 19.

    He then attempted suicide by stabbing himself in the chest and throat.

    They were both rushed to Kerugoya County Referral Hospital by good Samaritans, police said. The assailant aged 30 was initially found lying on the tarmac road having turned the knife on himself and slit open his throat, while a blood stained kitchen knife was lying beside him.

    The lady, aged 21 told police the man was his former boyfriend and that had parted ways two months ago after a disagreement.

    The man came back with rage, ready for revenge.

    The lady had deep stab wounds on the head, neck, and both hands. Both of them are admitted in serious condition.

    In Tetu, Nyeri County, a 70-year-old man was found dead after suspected murder. The body of Joseph Waweru Ngatunyi was found lying lifeless in his compound in Ihururu village with blood oozing from the mouth and nose, and his head was swollen.

    A murder weapon, a wooden object with blood stains, was recovered, and one suspect who is the son of the deceased, was arrested while wearing blood-stained clothes.

    The motive of the murder is yet to be established, police said. The body was transferred to Nyeri Referral Hospital morgue awaiting autopsy.

    In Juja, Kiambu County one Evans Gichui Waithera, 35 who who went missing on May 12 and was reported two days later was found dead in Theta river.

    Police said they found the body floating in the said river, having been blocked by vegetation, and was lying on its back, and was starting to decompose. The body had visible injuries around the neck, and was moved to Kenyatta University Thika Road Mortuary awaiting postmortem examinations.

    Elsewhere in Got Rabuor area, Homa Bay a 67-year-old man was found dead in his house.

    It is not clear what caused the death of the man identified as Gibson Otieno Nguka whose body was found on a sofa set facing upward, and the body had no visible injuries.

    In Geta, Trans Nzoia County, the body of one Hilary Onchonga, 23 was found lying on the roadside after suspected murder.

    Police said the body had physical injuries to the head and limbs. Besides the body, there were bloodstained stone and a wooden stick suspected to have been used in the murder, and the motive of the incident is not yet established.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending autopsy.
