Man stoned to death after fatally slashing a woman in love triangle saga in Machakos

A man was attacked and killed by a mob moments after he had slashed his alleged former girlfriend in a love triangle saga in Kitumbutu area, Machakos County.

The deceased was identified as Susan Nyaboke, 22. Her body was found lying in a pool of blood with a deep cut on the neck and jaw.

Police said the woman was an employee of Inspire Credit in Machakos.

She and a colleague had been called by a client to the area for negotiations on a loan when the incident happened on Monday afternoon, police said.

After concluding the said talks and the two were leaving the area, a man ambushed the deceased and slashed her in the neck and jaw.

This happened as the other colleague screamed for help. A mob responded to the scene and caught up with the assailant.

Police said he was stoned to death. Both bodies were later moved to the mortuary pending an investigation and autopsy, police said.

Police said they want to establish if the man had any relationship with the woman as claimed.

They also want to establish if the meeting they had was a set up.

Elsewhere, police are investigating an incident where a 54-year-old man was stabbed and killed in an attack on the road in Ntimaru, Migori County.

The murder happened on Monday October 27 night, police said and identified the deceased as Daniele Mwita.

He was accosted by three men who were armed with a knife and other crude weapons and stabbed in the stomach.

He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead while being attended to, police said.

Murder incidents have been on the rise in the area with some linked to cattle rustling menace. Police are investigating to solve the incidents.
