Mark Richard Hamill is an American actor, voice actor, and writer, best known worldwide for his iconic portrayal of Luke Skywalker in the Star Wars franchise.

Career
Hamill began his professional acting career in the early 1970s with guest roles on television shows such as The Bill Cosby Show, The Partridge Family, Cannon, Night Gallery, and a recurring part on General Hospital.
His breakthrough came in 1977 when he was cast as Luke Skywalker in George Lucas’s Star Wars, a role that catapulted him to international stardom.
He reprised the character in The Empire Strikes Back (1980) and Return of the Jedi (1983), and later returned for the sequel trilogy, notably in The Force Awakens (2015), The Last Jedi (2017), and The Rise of Skywalker (2019), along with appearances in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.
Beyond Star Wars, Hamill has appeared in films like Corvette Summer and stage productions including Broadway shows such as The Elephant Man, Amadeus, and Harrigan ’n Hart.
He has also built a legendary career in voice acting, most famously as the Joker starting with Batman: The Animated Series and continuing through video games like Batman: Arkham City.
