Mater Hospital is allegedly holding captive a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) ranger’s remains over lack of funds.
Eunice Musili lost her life three months ago while undergoing treatment at Mater Hospital leaving behind a huge hospital bill that the family is yet to pay.
Ms Musili was taken to the facility by fellow KWS rangers who then abandoned her until her time of death.
So far, the hospital bill stands at over Sh2 million hence the hospital management’s refusal to release her body for burial.
He family has in the past three months held numerous fundraisers but has only raised Sh190,000.
Many have questioned why the CS Tourism, Najib Balala and KWS have raised a finger to help the deceased’s family with the bill.
The family is seeking help and asking that Mater drops the outrageous charges. For example, according to the bill laboratory tests cost Sh488,000, pharmacy Sh872,000 and drugs at Sh900,000.

Here are some sentiments as shared by Twitter users;
It's a case of negligence by the same government she served. Even though mater Hospital have erroneously refused to release the body due to the accumulated bills,The obligation is squarely with Gok whom she worked for. Humans have refused to think.
