Former Interior Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang’i is back in the country.
The former minister is said to have jetted back on Saturday night and was received by close family members at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA).
Sources said he landed at 10:00 pm aboard KLM Flight 0566.

Matiang’i left days before his appearance before the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
He is, however, set to honour the summon on Monday at 11 am.
The Immigration Department had revealed that Matiangi left the country on February 19.

“The subject departed on February 19, 2023, through JKIA on KLM flight number KL566,” reads the letter in part.
The DCI has been looking into Matiang’i and questioning him on the purported police raid on his home last month.
Earlier, he was ordered to appear at DCI headquarters on the basis that he might have disseminated incorrect information on the supposed police raid.
Later, his lawyer Danstan Omari argued that the DCI had broken the rules about how summonses should be served, adding that neither the former CS nor his legal counsel had received such a directive.
