Education CS Fred Matiang’i on Monday officially released the KCSE and KCPE examination dates.
KCSE exams will start on 23 October with oral tests and the written exams on 6 to 29 November. KCPE will kick off on 1 to 2 November.
The CS also said that he has written to the IEBC asking them to set the date for the fresh polls a week before 17 October in order to give the students enough time to prepare for their examinations.
Matiang’i said that the polls would disrupt the 2017/18 Education calendar should the electoral body not consider the proposed date causing them to reschedule the exams.

He also said that the police had closed in on the perpetrator behind the Saturday Moi Girls inferno that killed 9 students.
The CS also revealed that the arson was no accident.
