Max Riemelt is a renowned German actor born on January 7, 1984, in the Mitte district of East Berlin, during the era of the German Democratic Republic.
He spent the first six years of his life in the GDR before the reunification of Germany.
Raised by his parents, Gunnar Riemelt, a graphic designer, and Judith Riemelt, he developed an early interest in performing arts.
Riemelt completed his high school education with a diploma and chose to forgo military service.
He is a father to a daughter and continues to reside in Berlin, where he pursues various interests including rapping, football, and kickboxing.
Siblings
Max has one known sibling, a younger half-brother named Lukas Riemelt, who shares the same mother.
Lukas, born after Max, has also pursued a career in acting, appearing in projects such as “In the Face of Crime” in 2010 and “Nackte Tatsachen” in 2000.
The brothers maintain a close family connection, with Lukas often referenced in relation to Max’s public life.
Career
Riemelt’s acting career began at the age of 13 in 1997 with roles in television productions like “Eine Familie zum Küssen” and “Praxis Bülowbogen.”
The following year, he landed his first leading role in the ZDF Christmas series “Zwei allein” and made a cameo in a music video.
His breakthrough came in 2004 with the film “Before the Fall,” directed by Dennis Gansel, which garnered significant attention in Germany.

He continued to collaborate with Gansel on projects such as “The Wave” in 2008 and “We Are the Night” in 2010.
