A board member of the Music Copyright Society of Kenya, Bernard Mukaisi, has resigned after allegations of accountability issues rocked the organization amid reports over graft.

The board member, Mr Mukaisi, who is the director in charge of Rift Valley region, resigned citing that there was no accountability at the institution and other members would soon follow suit.

“Due to unavoidable circumstances arising from persistence governance issues and a non-committal in serving the members, I have tendered my resignation,” reads the letter.

Mukaisi has had number of wrangles throughout his leadership as he was at some point suspended by the MCSK for gross misconduct and abuse of office. He has also been previously been allegedly involved in mismanagement of funds in the organization.

He confirmed that despite the fall out between him and the other board members, he would still continue to fight for the rights of musicians.
