Mechanic fatally stabbed in altercation over mobile phone in Ruaka

A 32-year-old mechanic was stabbed and killed in an altercation with a colleague over a mobile phone in the Ruaka area, Kiambu County.

Police said the assailant dropped the weapon and escaped the scene after the January 11 incident.

Witnesses said Peter Ngaru Njuguna had argued with the assailant over a mobile phone.

It was then that he picked a kitchen knife he had in his pocket and stabbed him in the stomach, fatally.

Njuguna was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Police said the deceased was stabbed in the neck and that the killer weapon was recovered at the scene.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy as police mounted the hunt on the assailant.

Elsewhere in Ntimaru, Migori County a man died after being assaulted. The victim was identified as Anthony Chacha. He died at a local hospital before police moved the body to the mortuary pending an autopsy and hunt on the assailant.

And police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found hanging on a fence after a suspected suicide incident in Kikambuani, Kangundo County.

The body was found hanging on a fence with his sweater tied on a tree near the scene. Police suspected the man died by suicide but added they were investigating the same.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.

In Ndarasha, Juja, Kiambu County, a 28-year-old man was found dead in an open field after a suspected murder.

The body of Worris Waweru Wamboi was found lying on an open field with one hand folded behind his back with some injuries on the head and some fresh blood on the ground, just below his head, police said.

It was later established that the deceased had a quarrel with the mother before a tenant in the compound intervened which turned physical.

The deceased who had suffered some injuries from the fight with some bleeding on the head left his home. And after walking for around 800 meters from their home, he collapsed and passed on, witnesses and police said.

The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and probe into murder. The said assailant was yet to be arrested on Tuesday.
