Meru county Woman Representative Kawira Mwangaza on Monday recorded a statement at Capitol Hill police station after confiscating a journalist’s phone.
The legislator was allegedly unhappy with Weru TV’s Boniface Mwongera who was present during legal proceedings at Milimani Law Courts where she has sued a musician for defamation.
Mwongera was taking pictures and sending them to a work WhatsApp group when the lawmaker snatched his phone.
Ms Mwangaza then proceeded to the police station and later to the Cybercrime Department offices at the DCI, with the journo’s device in hand.

The reporter on his part has accused the Woman Representative of hurling insults at him.
Police are still probing the issue.
A Facebook user has however noted that the MP violently attacked the journalist under the watchful eye of court orderlies.
