    Missing teacher found drowned in river in Bomet

    Police are investigating two separate drowning incidents that left two people dead.

    The first one happened in Konoin, Baringo County where the body of Edward Too, 49 and a teacher was found floating on River Itare at a bridge.

    The victim was identified to be a teacher by profession and was also the deputy principal at Kapkilaibei Secondary School, police said.

    Preliminary report showed the deceased went missing on October 18, 2025 and the missing person report was made at Konoin police station by his wife.

    The body was found on Tuesday afternoon with no visible injury seen and moved to the mortuary for preservation awaiting autopsy.

    Police said they are investigating the circumstances under which the incident happened. The news of the death prompted mourning in the village as the body was moved to the mortuary pending the probe.

    In Langoni area, Lamu County, a 16-year-old boy drowned at the Indian Ocean in a tragedy.

    The boy was in the company of two other teenagers and were on a swimming spree in the Shela area when he drowned on October 19, 2025.

    The police said a search and rescue mission was ongoing Wednesday.

    And a 34-year-old man was found dead in his house in Githurai 44, Nairobi.

    The cause of the death of David Karanja Kamau was not immediately established. His body was found in his rented house on Tuesday October 21, 2025 long after he had died. There were signs of vomiting in the house.

    The body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy, police said.

    Elsewhere in Kibiko, Kajiado County, a woman was found murdered and her body abandoned on the roadside.

    The body was found on October 21, 2025 in the Maragara area with bruises on the back and neck.

    Police suspect she was strangled by her killers. The woman was not immediately identified.

    Police said the body was moved to the mortuary pending an autopsy and other procedures.
