Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed Ali wants some devolved functions returned to the national government since some county governments use them to build football stadiums.
According to the youthful first term MP, football stadiums should not be built amidst sickly population.
“Things like health and roads should be returned to the national government.
Given to county governments you see some some people build football stadiums amidst a sickly population, will sick people play?” he posed.
Ali’s sentiments have not gone down well with sports lovers who think it is a reflection of what the government thinks about sports in general.

His knowledge of the health benefits associated with engaging in sports has also been questioned.
Ali is a close ally of Deputy president William Ruto, who promised Kenyans five new stadiums in 2013 as part of Jubilee Party manifesto but is yet to deliver even one.
